Upriver collects and performs a mixture of traditional and original folk music in the Celtic and Appalachian traditions. Their vibrant music is woven together with stories and history of the Scots Irish American experience to deepen listeners’ understanding of its rich musical heritage. Upriver is proud to present the music of these immigrants and their descendants which has been passed along through the generations by oral tradition.
Dan Moorefield plays guitar, piano, fiddle, and vocals. His musical roots go back to the County Waterford, Ireland. Teresa White brings to the music a variety of instruments which include the Irish whistle, alto recorder, banjo, mandolin, guitars, and vocal. Her family roots are deep in the Scots Irish heritage.
